ROCHESTER, Minn. — Minnesota Gov. Dayton has gone under the knife to treat his prostate cancer.
The Democrat had surgery this morning at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
A spokesman says Dayton’s surgery went as planned and concluded around 11:30 this morning.
Dayton expects to spend the night in the hospital but will return to his normal work schedule next week.
Dayton revealed his diagnosis just a day after he collapsed during his State of the State address last month.
