Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in Grand Forks

A flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service for the city and East Grand Forks just before 11 am

GRAND FORKS, ND — Heavy rain came down a little too fast for the storm drains in Grand Forks.

Many streets had flooding especially in the area around Columbia Mall and the underpasses in town.

A flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service for the city and East Grand Forks just before 11 am.

The rainfall ranks as one of the 10 greatest one day rain totals on record with over 3 and a quarter inches measured at the weather service.

The city had been running over an inch below average for the month.
