Zorbaz Kicks Off Beardsley Marathon with Inaugural Dog Run

Runners and their favorite furry friends ran a 1.5 mile course, which finished at People's Park

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Zorbaz in Detroit Lakes is kicking off Dick Beardsley Marathon Week with the inaugural dog run!

Runners and their favorite furry friends ran a 1.5 mile course, which finished at People’s Park.

Humans participating got a Dog Run Finisher Shirt and all dogs got a dog tag medal and a Zorbaz bandanna.

Registration for the run is $30 for one human and one dog and an additional $15 for any dog or person.

“Detroit Lakes is such a great place for active people with their dogs out,” said Dick Beardsley Marathon Director, Mark Knutson. “You come here on any given morning or any given weekend and there’s people out walking around the lake with their dogs and it just thought like the perfect way to kick off Dick Beardsley Marathon Week, Labor Day weekend, it’s a good day.”

All dogs and owners were welcome into Zorbaz after the race for some Labor Day fun.
