UND Football Wants Fast Start Against Montana State
Fighting Hawks averaging just two points in the first quarter of games this season.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Fighting Hawks football returns to the Alerus Center to begin Big Sky play this Saturday. UND is looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in South Dakota.
The Hawks really struggled to get things going to begin the game getting shut out in the first half. The team is averaging two points per game in the first quarter of games so far this season.
Getting off to a fast start is something that Head Coach Bubba Schweigert and North Dakota want to see this weekend against Montana State.
“The start is always important in all games,” Schweigert said. “We want to perform with some more consistency than we have at any point this year.”
Quarterback Keaton Studsrud agrees the offense has to put up points early on Saturday.
“It’s huge. We gotta get off to a good start tomorrow in practice,” Studsrud said. “We gotta be perfect throughout the whole week. Everyone has gotta come ready to practice each and every day.”
Kickoff on Saturday against the Bobcats is set for 2:30 p.m. KVRR will have the highlights at nine.
