F-M Community, SpartanNash Give Donation Boost to the Great Plains Food Bank

That is enough money to supply more than twenty four thousand meals to help feed the hungry

REGIONAL — Donations at the checkouts at all four Family Fare Supermarkets in the metro really added up.

People helped raise $8,200 for the Great Plains Food Bank between August 30 and September 14.

That is enough money to supply more than 24,000 meals to help feed the hungry.

Anyone who visited a participating SpartanNash owned retail store or fuel center had the chance to donate.

“Especially in the Midwest we love helping out the local groups,” said Family Fare Store Director, Jason Bossert. “The Great Plains Food Bank helps out several other food banks, everybody in the community. We’re all in this together, right? We all live in the same community and we love it and we want to support it and take care of everyone.”

Family Fare collects money for the Great Plains Food Bank each year.
