Multiple people hurt in alcohol-related crash in Fargo

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Four people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in Fargo Thursday night.

The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of 42nd Street and 52nd Avenue S. The Highway Patrol says a car heading south on 42nd Street and driven by a 21-year-old Fargo man went through a red light and t-boned a westbound SUV. The SUV left the street and rolled. The car spun and was struck by an eastbound SUV.

The 41-year-old Fargo woman driving the first SUV suffered serious injuries. The 53-year-old Fargo woman driving the second SUV suffered minor injuries. The driver of the car and a 19-year-old Grand Forks man with him both suffered serious injuries.

Neither was wearing a seat belt. The driver is facing charges of DUI and criminal vehicular injury. He was also cited for open container and no insurance.

The passenger was cited for minor in consumption and open container.

All four people were taken to Essentia Health.
