Hershey’s, Campbell’s Expand Snack Businesses
Campbell's and Hershey's are taking snack time seriously
NATIONAL — A well-known candy-maker is getting into the healthy snack business and a soup-maker is expanding.
Hershey’s has just acquired Amplify Snack Brands for $1.2 billion.
Amplify makes healthy-branded snacks like Skinny Pop Popcorn and Oatmega protein bars.
The company comes with about 600 employees as Hershey’s continues to try to move beyond its staple of candies and chocolate bars.
Campbell’s also is looking to expand its snack business as they acquire Snyder’s-Lance.
Snyder’s-Lance is most well-known for Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, kettle brand chips and Pop-Secret popcorn.
Campbell’s will add these to their Pepperidge Farm brand.
