Students at Lewis and Clark Elementary Collect over 300 Teddy Bears
Bears were donated to the Fargo, Moorhead, Glyndon, and Dilworth Fire Departments
FARGO, N.D. — First grade students in the Gifted and Talented program at Lewis and Clark Elementary School did their part to help kids in need.
The students collected three hundred teddy bears during National Kindness Week last week.
The bears were presented to members of the Fargo, Moorhead, Glyndon, and Dilworth Fire Departments.
Lewis and Clark’s Gifted and Talented Program instructor Stacy Anderson was proud of her students after they followed through with their plan to help others.
“Every year they amaze me with their enthusiasm, and their ability to pull this off, and the amount of bears we get, and that’s a tribute to our school, the parents here, and the community,” said Anderson.
The “We Care Bears” Program was started by Jessica Carscadden of San Diego in 2013, and many states have had teddy bear donation drives since.
