Young Girl Hosts Royal Cupcake Stand to Pay It Forward

Addie Loerzel brings back princesses, cupcakes and lemonade to raise money for the Sunshine Foundation

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Princesses, cupcakes and bouncy houses can only mean one thing.

Addie’s Royal Cupcake Stand is back in Moorhead.

Twelve-year-old Addie Loerzel, a Moorhead girl with Spina Bifida, is raising money to help other seriously ill or disabled children enjoy dream vacations.

Addie was granted her wish back in 2013 and now she’s working with the Sunshine Foundation to pay it forward and help another family in need.

Marisa Loerzel, Addie’s mother, says, “There’s a 13-year-old boy in Minnesota that has Down syndrome and some related medical issues and his family has never been on a vacation and he’s dreaming of going to Disney World to see Mickey Mouse and to meet SpongeBob SquarePants while he’s there. This is Addie’s way of paying it forward. She had such a good time on her trip that she wanted to make sure she got a chance to help other kids experience that too.”

The goal is to raise $5,000 for the boy’s dream.
