JAMESTOWN, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the contractor killed in a freak accident at the Jamestown landfill.

The patrol says 65-year-old Danny Howard of Grand Forks was working at the landfill Saturday afternoon when a dump truck being pushed by a payloader ran over him.

Officials say the payloader was attempting to push start the unoccupied dump truck and Howard was walking in front of the vehicles.

They were owned by On the Level Construction from Grafton, where Howard was employed.
