MSUM Professor Predicts Issues Presented in President’s SOTU Address
Headrick thinks viewers will be looking for a reassurance of no more government shutdowns
MOORHEAD, Minn. – Barbara Headrick, an MSUM Political Science professor, predicts President Trump will focus on border security in his State of the Union address.
She also thinks he’ll talk about how he feels he has succeeded when dealing with foreign policy.
Headrick thinks viewers will be looking for a reassurance of no more government shutdowns.
She says the president will focus on the positives during his presidency.
“At this point in a presidency, that tends to be what presidents do, especially when things, economically, are going well and people don’t feel overly threatened by economic burdens and so I think you’ll get a lot of optimistic talk but then also a substantial portion on border security,” Headrick said.
You can watch the “State of the Union” tonight at 8 right here on KVRR.
Headrick will join us tomorrow on the morning show to analyze the address.
