Exploring Hygee at the Fargo Public Library; A Comfy Cozy Feeling
The Danish word is used when acknowledging a feeling or moment that's cozy, charming or special
FARGO, N.D. — If winter has got you down, the Fargo Public Library is teaching people that getting comfy and cozy can also be a feeling.
Their afternoon of Hygge is filled with activities such as coloring, painting mugs and reading.
The Danish word is used when acknowledging a feeling or moment that’s cozy, charming or special.
The staff says they thought it was the perfect time of year to provide this kind of experience for people in the community.
“It’s a Danish word so I mean they are in kind of a cold climate too so it fits well here in Fargo. Especially at this time of year where we’ve had so much bad weather to be like that cozy feeling of warmth and also like the feeling of being together with people,” said Jenilee Canenwisher, a librarian.
Those at the event say they didn’t realize that you need to feel hygge in order to use the word properly.
