One-year-old boy dies in northern Minnesota house fire

REMER, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) – A one-year-old boy has died in a house fire near Remer, in northern Minnesota.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrived around 1:45 a.m. Friday to find the duplex in Boy Lake Township engulfed in flames

Deputies were able to get a woman out of the home from a bedroom, while another woman and three children were able to escape before responders arrived.  The boy’s body was recovered after the blaze was out.

The Minnesota Fire Marshal’s office and Leech Lake Tribal Police are investigating.
