Golden Drive is kicking it into high gear looking for donations for the needy heading into the holidays

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Golden Drive is kicking it into high gear looking for donations for the needy heading into the holidays.

Their law enforcement sock drive challenge goes until Friday. Last year, the drive collected more than 19,000 pairs of socks.

You can drop off socks at your local law enforcement agency.

Golden Drive’s Christmas Gift event starts today.

Plus, a food drive also started today at Border Town Bar & Grill in West Fargo. You get a free drink if you donate two or more food items.

Golden Drive founder Sue Baron says the group is so busy right now so that people in need can find comfort all winter long.

She explains, “Once you get past the holidays, it’s one of the hardest times for our homeless shelters. Donations really drop and the times are a lot tougher.”

Baron also announced that Golden Drive will be a part of Giving Hearts Day for the first time next year.
