Woman Who Failed To Yield To Train And Was Hit, Charged in Stutsman Co.

STUTSMAN CO., N.D. (KVRR:UPDATE 12/14/23) — A Jamestown woman escapes injury after driving in front of a train and getting hit.

The crash happened near Spiritwood, North Dakota on Saturday afternoon around 4 o’clock.

Highway Patrol says the 19-year-old driver, Bria Nieswaag, failed to yield to the right of way and crossed the railroad tracks.

A BNSF train hit the rear driver side of her car causing it to spin out and come to rest on the southside of the railroad tracks.

She was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.

Nieswaag was cited with failure to yield to right of way.  She pleaded guilty on December 12 and paid a $50 fine.
