Travel Incorporated: Be mindful of cannabis laws for holiday travel

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – As we head into the holiday travel season, it is great reminder for those that partake in cannabis to know the rules and laws to the the places they are going. Especially after a Texas woman was banned for life from Carnival Cruises for having CBD gummies.

And that’s even more important now for people living in Minnesota where it was recently legalized.

You can still face charges if you enter some states with it on you.
For example, it is still illegal in the state of North Dakota, so bringing it over from Minnesota will get you into legal trouble.

Tod Ganje with Travel Incorporated says there’s bound to be issues with travel this year because of the changing landscape of cannabis laws.

“Probably going to be a lot,” said Ganje. “Especially since there’s some states that do and some that don’t. It’s probably half and half in the country right now. Some are border states and some are not. I think there’s probably some of that confusion. And I suppose it depends on the state that you are in.”

Ganje recommends looking up state laws to wherever you are going to.
