Amazon gives major donation to Great Plains Food Bank
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Great Plains Food Bank is getting an early Christmas present.
And it’s delivered by, who else? Amazon.
It’s part of an ongoing partnership between the shipping giant and the local food bank.
Great Plains Food Bank serves a huge part of the region including North Dakota and Clay County on the Minnesota side.
The $10,000 check will go to provide 20,000 meals for food-insecure families.
Michael Ward, Amazon’s Senior Operations Manager, says, “Just really appreciate the continued partnership, allows it to be a great place to continue to live and work and grow the community. We’re really appreciate of all their work.”
The donation is the work of Fargo’s local Amazon distribution center.
The food bank is reporting the amount of food available to distribute remains low locally going into the winter season, and that need from local families is still on the rise.
