Fire Started When Heat Lamp is Knocked Over By The Wind Near Garfield, MN

DOUGLAS CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A heat lamp knocked over by the gusty wind starts a straw pile on fire and it quickly spreads to a house and its deck.

The fire near Garfield, Minnesota, near Alexandria, was spotted by the homeowner’s son as he returned home around 1:15 this morning.

Everyone was able to get out of the house safely and there were no injuries.

Garfield Fire Department was able to put the fire out after Douglas County deputies tried to get it out with extinguishers.

The deck and house sustained damage.
