LIVE: Fighting For Their Future

FARGO — For years, she’s taught countless people in the metro the art of self-defense, including how to connect with and be aware of their surroundings, how to stave off a physical assault, and how to escape an attacker with their lives and safety intact.

Now, she’s turning her passion to help other people to the new generation.

Martial artist, motivational speaker and personal trainer Mariah Prussia is turning to teaching children to disconnect from their devices and connect with their well-being on a physical, emotional and mental level.

She’s launching a nonprofit called Define The Fight.

In it, she says, she’s taking a holistic approach to child development, including getting them back out in nature, boosting their physical activity level, and introducing them to mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as sustainable farming.

Prussia visited the Morning Show on the big day of the new nonprofit’s launch to talk about her mission and why it matters so much for children to learn best practices in navigating an increasingly disconnected world.
