Bail Set for Larimore Man Charged With Murder After Standoff With Authorities

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — The Larimore, North Dakota man who was shot by authorities after an alleged murder makes his first court appearance by zoom from Altru Hospital.

43-year-old Troy Larson is charged with felony double a murder, attempted murder and seven counts of reckless endangerment.

Bond was set at $1 million.

On Saturday March 23, authorities say Larson fired shots at 64-year-old Jamey Holweger and a woman in a home in Larimore.

Holweger died but the woman was able to escape to call 911.

SWAT responded and Larson fired shots at a vehicle that breached a window after refusing to surrender.

When he came out in just a robe and was reaching into a pocket, he was shot twice in the back.

Larson remains at Altru.

Through the investigation it was learned that Holweger and Larson are related.

North Dakota BCI is investigating the incident.
