Major Shelf-Stable Milk Donation Made to Great Plains Food Bank

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass-Clay Creamery and Hornbacher’s are making a major shelf-stable milk donation to Great Plains Food Bank to help those in need.

They are donating 18,500 cartons of milk to the food bank now to be distributed to food pantries.

They will also donate an additional 30,000 milk cartons over the summer.

These milk cartons are nonperishable and last on shelves.

They say that it is very important to get it out to food pantries, and the people who need it.

“When we are able to offer this product that is shelf stable that is safe to consume for up to a year. Its not only a great product nutritionally, but it allows logistically, its just so much easier for pantries to be able to order this stuff,” said Jared Slinde with Great Plains Food Bank.

In North Dakota, one in five people do not have enough food to eat each day, including more than 50,000 kids.
