LIVE: Rounding Up Some Summer Fun
FARGO — Between the snow in the long winters, and the rain when it warms up, bike skills for folks around here can tend to get a little…. rusty.
But they’re rounding up some help for you and your family tonight in West Fargo.
The Bike Safety Rodeo has free bike tune-ups, a bike wash station, and an obstacle course.
There are also safety experts on hand to help you make sure your helmet fits right and you’ve got the lights that the law (and common sense) require.
Safe bike skills are particularly critical for kids to practice, since they and their bikes are smaller than adults, and a lot harder for motorists to spot.
You may not realize just many bike-ready trails and bike lanes the metro has that are open to explore this summer.
The event’s put on by West Fargo Events, and it involves a lot of other metro-area organizations, including MetroCOG, which works to expand the metro’s walkability and bike access.
MetroCOG’s Dan Farnsworth and West Fargo Events’ Ella Donais joined the Morning Show to share some best practices for cyclists and some hidden gems of bike trails around the metro.
