Detroit Lakes Man Out Walking Is Hit and Killed By 19-Year-Old Driver

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KVRR) — An 81-year-old man is dead after getting hit by a car while walking in the 1500 block of Randolph Road in Detroit Lakes.

The man and the 19-year-old female driver of the car are both from Detroit Lakes.

Becker County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened in the noon hour.

The man died shortly after being hit.

The road was closed for about three hours during the response and investigation which is still active.

Names of those involved will be released on Wednesday.
