One Person Hurt, Pet Killed After Explosion and Fire in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D.(KVRR/KFGO) — An investigation is underway in Jamestown after an explosion and fire injured one person and caused extensive damage to a house and neighboring property.

Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the house and garage were on fire when firefighters arrived around 1:30 a.m.

A 55-year-old resident suffered severe burns and was flown to a Minneapolis hospital.

One pet died in the fire.

Reuther says there were “multiple” reports of the explosion.

North Dakota BCI and state Fire Marshal’s Office are involved in the investigation.
