LIVE: Devilish Delight on the Concordia Stage
MOORHEAD — What would you do if you had a date with the devil?
Especially if he makes you an offer you can’t refuse?
A deal with the devil — who wants one, who gets one, and the surprising reasons of those that stand firm against temptation — is the theme of Concordia College’s staging of “Witch.”
It’s set in the 1600s in a village where a woman’s been shunned, left an outcast after fellow villagers label her as a witch and blame her for their misfortunes.
That’s when the devil comes to town and offers to fulfill each person’s wishes, in exchange for their souls.
In spite of its setting and the fact it’s based on a play set during that era, the script is written in modern language, using modern props.
And it addresses the issues around how society treats its outsiders, a problem we’re still dealing with today.
Some of the cast and crew joined the Morning Show for a live interview about how the show tackles these themes, plus a sneak preview of one of the scenes.
