Mysterious, Macabre, and Moving: The Art of the Lunatique Boutique

FARGO — If you’re looking to set a special spooky mood with a piece of original art, a local artist’s space in downtown might be just what you need.

Deanna Dahlsad is the driving creative force behind Lunatique Boutique.

Her work is influence by the Victorian era.

She uses sustainably and ethically sourced insects, animal bones, feathers and other parts, as well as mummified mice.

She also uses found objects, dolls, books, and paper.

Dahlsad says her work isn’t for everyone, but it has something to say about the beauty in the broken.

She joined the Morning Show for a tour of her work, her inspiration and process, and why there’s a message there for everyone about the natural and the what-could-be.
