Big Detroit Lake Access Point Thin Ice Warning From Becker County Sheriff

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KVRR) — Becker County Sheriff’s Office is issued a warning about this ice.

They posted this picture of a vehicle with its front end down in the water to its Facbook page with the caption: “Please Do Not use the Holiday Inn Access on Big Detroit Lake.”

They remind everyone that due to recent rain and above freezing temperatures, ice conditions may have changed on area lakes.

“Ice is never 100% safe and can change daily.”

They encourage people to be safe and use caution at all times.
