Meet The First Baby Born at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo in 2025

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The first baby of 2025 born in Fargo was at Sanford Medical Center, and he’s a cutie.

Little Khyrin Crownover was born at 1:21 this morning to parents Jonathan Crownover and Licia Polley and may be the first baby born in the state.

Khyrin weighed in around 8 pounds, 13 ounces and is 21 inches tall.

He has two older brothers who are 7 years old and 3 years old.

While Khyrin is one of the first babies born this year in North Dakota, his family lives in Breckenridge.

Despite the long drive, the mother says the delivery was a quick one.

“We took off from the house at around 10:30-11 O’clock in Breckenridge. Made it here in about forty-some odd minutes. And by the time that I got here, I was dilated eight centimeters, took me about 16-20 minutes to dilate the next two centimeters. They said, ‘Don’t push,’ I’m like, ‘OK, whatever you say.’ Three pushes later and he was there,” said Licia.

Along with their new bundle of joy, the family received a bundle of gifts from Sanford including a white noise machine, non-alcoholic champaign, and two onesies donated by Dairy Queen.

We also learned of two other New Year’s babies: a girl born in Grand Forks at 8:30 a.m. and a boy born in Dickinson around 8:45 a.m. Mountain time.
