MOORHEAD — Clay County Attorney’s office is welcoming a new, four-legged addition to their office staff.

Edison is a Golden Labrador and specially trained as a facility dog to help people as they navigate the justice system.

He received his training through the nationally recognized organization Can Do Canines, which partners with the attorney’s office.

They place service animals throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The attorney’s office is very pleased with Edison’s ability to connect with people and provide comfort during difficult times.

“He’s gone to do a few things at work. He’s gone over to the Child Advocacy Center a few times and the kids just light up when they see him,” said his handler, Chief Clay County Assistant Pamela Foss.

Edison will also make appearances at West Central Regional Juvenile Center to help youth receive comfort and emotional support as they go through the justice system.
