Teen Arrested After Crashing Into Tree North of Detroit Lakes

BECKER CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A Detroit Lakes teen faces charges after losing control and crashing his vehicle into a tree, narrowly missing Sunlite Bar and Grill on County Highway 21.

Becker County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Ronald Wright III and a 15-year-old female walked into the bar after the crash Saturday night with apparent injuries.

They were both taken to Essentia St. Mary’s.

After he was released from the hospital, Wright was arrested for criminal vehicular operation.

Authorities say alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
