Hornbachers Presents Check To Great Plains Food Bank From Holiday Donations
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) —Hornbacher’s presents Great Plains Food Bank with a donation of over $49,000 as part of its annual Feed Hope campaign.
Each year Hornbacher’s customers make donations during the month of December.
What started in 2011 has now raised over $1 million and a total of over two million meals served.
The donation this year will be able to provide meals to 98,000 kids, families, and seniors facing food insecurity.
Twenty-five percent of the funds raised go to the “Hornbacher’s Food Scholarship”.
“It really comes down to the guests. They are purchasing their groceries, they’re rounding up one, three, or five dollars and they know and they’re seeing it on their grocery bills that as prices of everything go up they’re still being generous. And they’re still giving back to those who are without,” said Melissa Sobolik, CEO of Great Plains Food Bank.
Hornbacher’s will offer a similar campaign in July called Check Out For Hunger.
