East Grand Forks Man Enters Not Guilty Plea In His Father’s 2020 Shooting Death

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — An East Grand Forks man has waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea in the shooting death of his father in 2020.
32-year-old Vincent Villarreal is charged with murder for the shooting death of his father.
55-year-old Jeffrey Shulzitski was found dead on December 5, 2020 at Budget Inn Express in Grand Forks.
Witnesses told police that they saw him leave the hotel after the shooting.
Villarreal was arrested in Crookston later that month.
He has been in custody on unrelated charges since the shooting.
He faces up to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole if convicted.
His next court date is set for June 19.
