FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Fargo man who claimed he shot a man in self-defense last September during an argument has entered an Alford plea to manslaughter.

That means Tyreik Taylor-Roberts maintains his innocence but admits there is enough evidence to convict him.

As part of a plea deal, murder, aggravated assault, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia charges were dropped.

The 24-year-old Roberts is accused of shooting 25-year-old Jalab Moses twice in the chest in the 1300 block of 8th Avenue North in Fargo on September 20, 2024.

Roberts will undergo a pre-sentence investigation before he is sentenced and faces up to 10 years in prison.
