AgViews Live: Trouble in Trump Country
FARGO — Bankers who work in agricultural finance say President Trump’s tariffs are costing him major support among farmers in what used to be solidly Trump country.
That’s the word ahead of the annual AgViews Live seminar by Bell Bank.
Uncertainty over the future of federal farm programs and tariffs on some trade items, as well as whether tariff trouble will sour international trade relationships, are throwing a lot of farmers’ best-laid plans up in the air.
This also comes as Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., links some widespread farming practices America’s obesity problem, while pushing back against pesticide use.
Bell Bank’s experts say it’s eating away at support from farmers, who helped put Trump back in the White House.
Bell Bank Director of Agribusiness Development joined the Morning Show for a live interview about some of the biggest challenges facing farmers and their financial futures ahead of the eleventh annual seminar starting Monday.
