UPDATE: Police make arrest for Essentia Hospital lockdown

(UPDATE 4:48 PM) — Fargo Police determined the call was made from Moorhead. They arrested 57-year-old Jerome Lampley for Terrorizing and was taken to the Clay County Jail.

 

(UPDATE 1:02 PM) — Statement from Essentia Health-Fargo:

The lockdown at Essentia Health-Fargo has been lifted as of noon today. All services and patient care have resumed normal operations.

This morning, hospital staff received a threatening phone call. As a result, we engaged our law enforcement partners and placed the campus into lockdown out of an abundance of caution. Scheduled patient encounters were postponed until noon.

 We are extremely grateful for the quick action of our staff and our law enforcement partners for their swift response.

 The safety of our patients, visitors and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any inconvenience.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The Essentia Health Hospital, located at 3000 32nd Ave S, is currently in lockdown due to security concerns.

All scheduled appointments before noon have been cancelled.

Individuals who are unbadged are not being allowed into the building out of caution.

An investigation into the concern is being conducted by both the Fargo and Moorhead Police Departments.

“Due to a security concern, the Essentia Health-Fargo campus is currently on lockdown with no unbadged individuals being allowed into the building out of an abundance of caution. Scheduled patient encounters are being cancelled until noon today.

We are actively gathering all the facts to complete a full incident investigation with Fargo Police Department and Moorhead Police Department.”
