Bringing the Sunshine, No Matter the Weather
FARGO — Next week’s forecast is all but guaranteed to bring some sunshine to the region, especially for children struggling with a cancer diagnosis.
That’s because it’s the return of the annual “Sunshine Kids Golf Tournament,” now in its 18th year.
The tournament is once again sold out and looking to top its previous fundraising record.
Sunshine Kids is a national nonprofit that gives children battling cancer opportunities to connect with other children with the same diagnosis through social activities, trips, and parties.
The funds from this tournament stay here in the region.
38 teams are playing on Monday, with sixty-some local sponsors.
While this year’s tournament sold out fast, there are other ways you can help.
Berkshire Hathaway’s Maureen Bartelt joined the Morning Show to talk about what keeps the players coming back year after year, what it takes to put on a tournament this big, and why it’s so critical for kids battling cancer to connect with other children who can understand what they’re going through.
