Find Your Way to Oktoberfest

HANKINSON, N.D.  — It’s time to get your German on.

setup is already starting in the southern valley for the 23rd annual Oktoberfest celebration in Hankinson, North Dakota.

Every year, it attracts visitors from all over the the tri-state area to sample traditional German and Bavarian delights like traditional polka music, beer, sausage and more.

They have multiple bands that make the trek from the Fargo metro area to perform, and lots of local vendors for shoppers as well.

It’s a way to let people who aren’t of German descent experience a culture that’s near and dear to their hearts, says Oktoberfest organizer Bob Wurl.

Wurl joined the Morning Show to talk about how the celebration’s evolved in its two-decades plus run, how big a turnout they expect with this weekend’s expected weather, and why kids actually have an advantage over adults when it comes to some traditional German games.
