Ghoul Morning: The Art of Halloween — on You
FARGO — It’s October First and Halloween season is kicking into high gear for the metro’s artists and creative people.
And at Hannah Montgomery’s tattoo studio in downtown Fargo, things get pretty busy this time of year.
Montgomery specializes in photorealistic images, often with a dark and seasonally appropriate theme for the Halloween season.
She works with her clients for the original designs, often delving into history, mythology, folklore and fables to help bring their ideas to life and onto their bodies.
Montgomery says it’s a big responsibility to get it right, since her art doesn’t just go on your living room wall — it goes on your body, permanently.
Montgomery and her frequent collaborator and model Gena Maxwell joined the Morning Show to talk about why tattoo artists are sometimes unfairly excluded from being thought of as artists, and what it takes to bring an idea about an image to life on a living canvas.
