UPDATE: 12 fire departments battling blaze at Anchor Ingredients in Hatton, ND

HATTON, N.D. (KVRR 8:15 PM UPDATE) — Numerous fire crews remain on scene of a large fire at Anchor Ingredients in Hatton, North Dakota.

Traill County Assistant Emergency Manager Ben Gates tells KVRR Local News that the fire was reported around 3:15 Wednesday afternoon.

Two buildings which are close to each other at the elevator are on fire and one has collapsed.

They were filled with wheat.

Gates says there are around 100 crew members from 12 different departments on scene fighting the blaze.

He expects many will be on scene for some time to monitor hot spots.

The water pressure in the city of Hatton should be returning to typical levels after an initial decrease due to the fire response.

Anchor Ingredients announced in 2023 that it had acquired the grain handling facility in Hatton.

At the time they said the facility would allow the company to expand its ingredient portfolio and processing capabilities.

Traill-Steele Emergency Management says with winds blowing to the southwest, things are going to heat up quickly in that vicinity.

They are asking people to give emergency crews space to respond to the situation.
