26-year-old D’Angelo Hunt is being held in Grand Forks County Jail on charges of second degree murder and offenses in Indian country.
Court documents reveal Hunt and his brother Isaac Hunt got into a fight that involved a knife in early March 2024 at their father’s home.
Blood stains were found in their father’s home on a TV stand, subfloor and duct work.
Isaac was reported missing later that month.
He was last seen late on March 2, 2024 or early on March 3, 2024 when he was dropped off along with his brother at their father’s home.
Three witnesses reported picking the brothers up early on March 3, 2024 and D’Angelo began to hit his head on the front seat because he was angry another manwas trying to rip off Isaac over controlled substances.
One witness says she saw Isaac and D’Angelo pushing each other as they pulled away in their vehicle.
The witnesses also reported seeing a video posted to Facebook that morning by Isaac of D’Angelo packing back and forth, hyperventilating and holding a knife.
At 8:21 a.m. their grandmother called authorities saying the men were drunk and wanted them removed from their father’s home.
An officer responded around 9:09 a.m. but no one answered the door.
During an interview about his brother’s disappearance, Hunt said he suffered a wound during the fight and said he did not want to tell law enforcement about it at first.
This past Saturday, a human skull was found on the property during another extensive search to find Isaac.
The next day additional remains were found along with shoes and clothing that Isaac was last seen wearing.
The case is being investigated by the FBI.
