Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry settles employee benefits case with R.D. Offutt Farms

ST. PAUL (KVRR/KFGO) — Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has recovered more than $160,000 dollars in a settlement with RD Offutt Farms for employee sick time and recruitment violations.
The department says the Fargo-based company will pay over $82,000 for earned sick and safe time and more than $80,000 dollars in penalties for failing to provide employee statements to 101 migrant agricultural workers.
The department says the money will go to the employees.
The investigation found they were not able to use the benefit during the state’s audit period between January and December, 31 2024.
