Legislation rescinds Biden-era resource management plan in North Dakota

WASHINGTON (KFGO/KVRR) – North Dakota’s congressional delegation is celebrating President Donald Trump’s signing of the Congressional Review Act, legislation that rescinds former President Biden’s resource management plan to close off 45% of potential federal oil and gas acreage.
The plan would have closed off leasing of nearly 99% of federal coal acreage in North Dakota.
Senators John Hoeven, Kevin Cramer, and Rep. Julie Fedorchak joined President Trump at the White House for the signing. Fedorchak says this is something that goes back to her days as a public service commissioner.
“We filed comments against the Biden plan, they completely ignored them and everything the state had to say about it, went ahead and passed this very devastating plan. We have now rolled it back which saved 12,000 jobs, $34 million dollars annually revenue for the state to help with education and so many other things,” Fedorchak said.
Senator John Hoeven calls the Biden-era rule an egregious overreach that would have severely locked down future energy development in North Dakota.
