ST. CLOUD (KVRR) — Bail or bond is set at $3 million with no conditions for the man charged with killing his wife who is the daughter of a now former candidate for governor in Minnesota.

23-year-old Dylan Tobler is charged with 2nd degree murder for the stabbing death of 22-year-old Hallie Tobler in St. Cloud.

She is the daughter of Republican Jeff Johnson, a former city council member who has suspended his campaign for governor.

Court records show Hallie was found dead in the bathroom on Saturday night and had multiple stab wounds.

Police located multiple knives in the bathroom including one that had dried blood on the blade.

They were tipped off by someone who hadn’t seen Hallie since the afternoon of February 3 and went to the apartment on Saturday night.

They say they knocked for about 15 minutes before the door was unlocked from the inside.

The witness entered the apartment and found Hallie dead and Dylan in the living room and called police.

Police found Dylan had self-inflicted stab wounds.

He told officers that he thought it was his fault she was dead and he caused his own injuries.

When asked what will happen next, Dylan stated “jail” and tapped himself on the chest.

He was treated at a hospital before being booked into jail.

His initial court appearance is set for February 23.
