Save a Life Saturday with Sanford Health

FARGO — Valentine’s Day is all about looking after each other’s hearts.

So Saturday, Sanford Ambulance is going to teach you how.

They’re hosting “Save a Life Saturday” at West Acres Mall, for anyone who wants to learn hands-only CPR.

They’ll teach you what to do if someone in your vicinity stops breathing, and how to keep them alive while you’re waiting for paramedics.

They warn it can be physically taxing for some people, so be ready to hand off to another person after a couple of minutes of chest compressions.

And if you do it correctly, you may break a couple of the victim’s ribs.

Kristi Englestad of Sanford Ambulance joined the Morning Show to show us how it’s done and why you could be the difference between survival and death for someone in the room.
