Woman found dead after fire in living quarters of garage in Miltona, MN

MILTONA, Minn. (KVRR) — An 85-year-old woman is dead after a fire broke out in the living quarters of a garage in Miltona, Minnesota.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office got a 911 call about the fire at 16570 Co. Road 64 just after 10 a.m. Thursday.

The caller told them a woman had been located and removed from the garage, but was not responsive or breathing.

Douglas County Deputies and medical personnel performed life saving measures on the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

She has been identified as Bonnie Johnson.

The building has extensive damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the sheriff’s office and Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
