It’s Pi(e) Day!
The most notable celebration came at Inspire Innovation Lab in Moorhead.

MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – St. Patrick’s Day and similar celebrations may have commanded a lot of attention on Saturday, but that’s not all that was happening.
It was March 14 – 3.14 – and that means it was also Pi Day.
The annual celebration of the irrational number that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter was embraced with open arms by Inspire Innovation Lab in Moorhead.
Staff gathered pies baked by students and local bakeries like Nichole’s Fine Pastry, set up a Build Your Own Pie bar with all sorts of fixings and toppings, and, of course, had a contest to see who could recite the most digits of pi.
“A lot of the pies that are in the pie contest have been made by our students. And they are very unique – because that’s kind of what we do, is try to be very creative,” explained Carrie Lauber, the Executive Nerd of Inspire Innovation Lab. “It gives them the opportunity to explore and come up with their own recipe for pie.”
Whole pies were also available for sale, as a small fundraising measure for the school.
