A second woman pleads guilty for her role in boy’s death in Moorhead in 2024

MOORHEAD, Minn.  (KVRR) — A second woman involved in the March 2024 death of a toddler in Moorhead, pleads guilty to second-degree murder and avoids going to trial.

24-year-old Shiann Erickson was charged in the death of 3-year-old Eastyn Deronjic along with Rosa Garza.

Police began investigating the death after a medical call for a child not breathing in the 1500 block of Belsly Boulevard on March 18, 2024.

Autopsy results revealed the boy died from blunt force trauma.

Garza previously plead guilty to second-degree murder and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Erickson will be sentenced on May 20.
