EAGAN, Minn. (KVRR) – The Minnesota Vikings are adding another weapon to their receiving corps, bringing in veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings to fill an important need on the roster.
Jennings joins the Vikings as the team’s projected third wide receiver on the depth chart behind star receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. The move helps replace last season’s WR3, Jalen Nailor, who departed in the offseason.
Jennings was originally selected in the seventh round, 217th overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers out of University of Tennessee.
Over his first five NFL seasons, Jennings appeared in 75 games with 32 starts, totaling 210 receptions for 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns. During the 2025 season, Jennings started all 15 games he played in, recording 55 catches for 643 yards and a career-high nine receiving touchdowns. He also started both postseason games for San Francisco, finishing with three receptions for 68 yards.
In 2024, Jennings posted career-best numbers with 77 receptions and 975 receiving yards, emerging as one of the 49ers’ most reliable targets.
Now, Jennings heads to Minnesota where the Vikings hope his experience, physical style of play and red-zone ability can provide another dependable option for their offense alongside Jefferson and Addison.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports: “New Vikings WR Jauan Jennings’ one-year deal is worth $8 million, with a chance to make up to $13M with incentives, per source.”
