15th Street S. intersection closed for one week due to 32nd Avenue construction project

FARGO (KVRR) — A busy intersection along 32nd Avenue South in Fargo is temporarily closed.
The project is currently in phase 2 of upgrading a section of the street that includes the intersection of 32nd Avenue and 15th Street South.
The week-long closure will let crews complete underground utility work.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured via 35th Avenue South.
Westbound traffic will be rerouted to 27th Avenue South.
The total cost of the current phase of the project is $15 million.
“We’re hoping that it’ll only be this week and then we’ll be able to get north/south traffic back on to 15th Street, just to extend those utilities,” said City of Fargo Engineer Jason Leonard. “And then we’ll do some temporary surfacing with asphalt pavement, so we can get the traffic back and then that way we can work in the closure between 15th St. and University without affecting those two main thoroughfares.”
When work is completed around the 15th Street intersection, the intersection of 32nd Avenue and University Drive will be temporarily closed.
