Horace Mann Elementary School breaks ground for the start of the next chapter

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — It was a groundbreaking moment from students and staff at Horace Mann, Roosevelt, and Madison elementary schools, as shovels began breaking ground.
Horace Mann Elementary School has served the Fargo community for over 100 years.
Since 2008, Horace Mann has served students from kindergarten to the second grade.
With the soon-to-be-revamped school, Horace Mann, Roosevelt, and Madison will combine into a single unified school.
And in a matter of days, the doors will close for construction.
“We’re excited to get our learners a fresh new place to learn, and our teachers a fresh new place to be professional and creative. And a brand new place to keep loving children. Like we’re so excited for that, it’s just going to be a magnificent time … I think we fit everything perfectly, and days like today are really, really special,” said Leandra Ostrom, Principal, Horace Mann Elementary.
The new Horace Mann Elementary School is set to open in the fall of 2028.
